これまでのダブルやツインベッドの常識を覆すような新たなスタイル提案―。ドリームベッドは今年、ライセンス生産している米国のマットレスブランド「Ｓｅｒｔａ（サータ）」のバリエーションを生かした「ペアリングツイン」を展開しており、人気アーティストを起用したプロモーションなどを行っている。

　体形や好み、生活スタイルが違う夫婦それぞれの個性を生かした「眠りのカタチ」とは――。ドリームベッドは、これまでのダブルやツインでは実現できなかったことを「ペアリングツイン」という新たなスタイルで提案した。
　きっかけはダブルベッド派の声だった。ドリームベッドが調査したところ「別々のマットレスで寝たい日がある」「パートナーの寝相が気になり、夜中に目覚めたことがある」「ダブルベッドが原因でけんかしたことがある」と、ダブルベッドの選択が意外にもストレスになっていることが分かった。
　そこで同社は、シングルマットレス２台をくっつけて並べ、その隙間にペアリングパッドを置いて、１枚の大きなボックス型のパッドシーツで覆って使うスタイルを提案した。マットレスは、サータ12種類の中から選べる。夫婦それぞれに合った寝心地のマットレスを選んでペアリングする。夫婦それぞれの個性を大切にしながら、程よい距離感を保つこと「ダブルよりもぐっすりと眠れ、ツインよりもそばにいられる」という寝心地が実現するという。
　同社はそのプロモーションとして、人気アーティストが商品ごとの寝心地をイラストやＣＧで表現する「Ｓｅｒｔａ　Ｇａｌｌｅｒｙ　２０２０」（https://www.serta-japan.jp/pairingtwin/）を公開している。柔らかさやボリュームなどが異なるペアリングツインの代表的な６組の組み合わせで、６組のアーティストが寝心地の違いを表現。アートを楽しみながらサータのバリエーションを理解できる仕掛けになっている。

The very new suggestion which changes a standard of double-beds or twin-beds. This year, Dream Bed is boosting a series of “Pairing Twin”, which is a variation of Serta, a mattress brand from the U.S. and a licensed product of Dream Bed, and promoting the bed by using popular artists.

What is an idealistic sleeping style, in which a couple can be truly relaxed in spite of the differences such as a shape of bodies, tastes, and lifestyles? Dream Bed suggests a solution by a very new style, Pairing Twin, which overcomes weak points of usual double-beds or twin-beds so far.

The idea came from opinions from the users of double-beds. Under the investigation by Dream Bed, it turned out that many people occasionally felt stress due to the use of double-beds. They said, “Sometimes I wish the mattress would be separate ones”, “Sleeping posture of my partner makes me awake at midnight now and then”, and “We have experienced quarrels because of our double-bed”, and so on.

Therefore, the company suggests the style that the users put 2 single-mattresses together, covering the gap by a pairing pad and wrapping the 2 mattresses by a big box-typed sheet. Each user can choose a mattress on him/her own among 12 types of Serta, then the 2 mattresses become a pair. “This Pairing Twin lets a couple sleep better than a double-bed does, but leads them closer than twin beds do”, the company said. This suggestion may have the users keep a good relationship, while valuing the differences of their own personalities.
