Karimoku New Standard (KNS), a Karimoku furniture made from Japanese hardwood, was launched in 2009 as furniture that can be used not only in homes but also in public spaces such as offices. ORGATEC TOKYO became a great setting to highlight its aspect.

Various office scenes such as meeting rooms, lobbies, and rest areas were reproduced in a booth with a simple design that takes the environment into consideration, such as using recycled cardboard and textile materials. While interweaving a collection of "Ishinomaki Laboratory by Karimoku" and "MAS" using Japanese cypress(hinoki), centered on KNS, they proposed a new workspace unique to Karimoku that values the hospitality required for daily life.

The new "fence sofa" was symbolically represented that concept. The upper part of the fence is softened, making it a playful mechanism to communicate with the people inside.

The height of the high table "Spectrum High ST" that can be used for various purposes such as small meetings is 1030 millimeters. It is said that people who are sitting and who are standing are particular about the height at which they can talk from the same perspective. Width 1900 millimeters, depth 950 millimeters. It can be chosen the color from the natural finishing of domestic oak wood and black.

All designs are by Geckeler Michels, from a design studio based in Berlin, Germany. In addition, a prototype of the 6-seater rounded table "Spectrum Workstation Round ST" was placed in the meeting space.

In the lobby / lounge space, they proposed a prototype of the fully modular sofa "Castor Lobby Sofa" that can be freely rearranged from the KNS standard "Castor" designed by Swiss BIG-GAME. It can be flexibly configured while taking advantage of the beautiful grain of domestic oak wood, such as one-seater, two-seater, three-seater, table-integrated type, corner type, and facing sheet.
